There's been talk for a while that The Mummy 3 will involve Asian Mummies and be set in China which initially I dismissed as just being that... "talk".... but today it seems there may be some truth to it. IGN through Latino Review are reporting that helmer Rob Cohen was talking at Q & A session the other day where he confirmed that Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh had been cast in The Mummy 3 and that the film will take place in China. Interestingly, he also said that the main character won't be Rick (Brendan Fraser) but rather his NOW 22 YEAR OLD SON and although Yeoh's character wasn't revealed, he said that Jet Li "will be the head Mummy in a group of Mummies that were the Teracotta army." The casting of Michelle Yeoh is a good one, she is an extremely solid actress who I don't think I have ever seen but in a performance that wasn't 5 stars. Jet Li who is great at what he does, no doubt, but do we really need to see that in a Mummy movie? Can you imagine martial arts mummies that are choreographed alongside Rob Cohen's ramped up soundtrack and fast-cutting? source - latino review, ign
