After Spider-Man: Homecoming's second trailer landed, you could have been forgiven for thinking we'd get nothing more from the future of the MCU until Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 lands in cinemas at the start of next month. But Marvel like to drop a surprise now and then and yesterday saw the debut of the first, excellent Thor: Ragnarok trailer.

It's another strong offering from the Marvel hype building machine, and mercifully, it didn't bother spoiling absolutely everything about the film. Instead, we got something of a mood board, establishing tone, aesthetic and flavour as well as revealing key details like backstory hints, a first look at Karl Urban's Skurge and some absolutely delightful memeable material.

Sure, it looks like there have been Guardians Of The Galaxy influences in the approach, but James Gunn doesn't own the trope of using popular music in trailers. And if you weren't expecting exactly this style from Taika Waititi, you should probably have been paying more attention.

In case you live under an uncultured rock, the music is The Immigrant Song, by Led Zeppelin. You should already own it in some form though, because you're not a heathen. Moving on...

So what did we learn?
