Thor: Ragnarok WILL Adapt Planet Hulk
Finally, we can all stop asking when it's going to be made.
Just less than two weeks after the announcement that Jeff Golblum was joining the Thor: Ragnarok cast as The Grandmaster (among lots of other details), there's another major hint at what we can expect from the sequel.
According to Joblo, Ragnarok will adapt the Planet Hulk story, mashing-up with the story of Asgard's civil war. It will definitely include some gladiatorial games overseen by the Grandmaster, and Hulk WILL be rocking his iconic one-shoulder armour from the comics.
And wouldn't you know that I absolutely called it on the Grandmaster's casting? Send all appreciation c/o WhatCulture, in Smugville, England.
Joblo also confirm that Thor will be getting a major make-over for the Planet Hulk section of the film, with a shaved head rather than his luscious flowing golden locks. Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie will also get a new look, wearing war paint "much like a Native American warrior".
The story apparently plays like this: "Thor... needs to find the ultimate weapon to stop Ragnarok and reset the universe." The ultimate weapon? Could that be Time Gem? It would certainly fit with "resetting the universe" and could wipe out whatever serious damage Loki does in Ragnarok.
All in all, this sounds great and a massive improvement on Thor: The Dark World. It needs to be, obviously, but it's all looking like a vast improvement rather than just a mender. Can't say I'm not getting ridiculously hyped for it now.
Thor: Ragnarok will hit cinemas on November 3rd, 2017.
