Over the weekend we told you that Tobe Hooper was working on a new slasher movie described as "The Mexican Freddy Krueger" titled Tequilia Joe. Well it appears "Joe" won't be his next film, even though he claimed it was the first project he had felt passionate about since the original Texas Chain Saw Massacre way back in 1974. According to Shock Till You Drop, his next project will be Training Ground, a controversial Al Qaeda thriller for London based company Midsummer Films. The movie will shot in Romania this fall. Andy Briggs wrote the screenplay...
Eight backpackers traveling abroad along Silk Road lose their mode of transportation via an avalanche. Seeking a nearby town they stumble upon a desolate Al Qaeda training camp and discover plans for the destruction of several U.S. cities, unbeknownst to them Los Angeles has already suffered a dirty bomb attack. They make off with the plans and are subsequently hunted down by the Al Qaeda members eager to get their information back.
A very different kind of film from Hooper and one which sounds so much more interesting than Tequila Joe. The site claim that an official announcement for the film is beckoning.
