Is that you, Tom?!

A couple of weeks ago, Tom Hardy shared the above photo of him on the set of upcoming movie Fonzo, where he'll be taking on the role of an older Al Capone. And while Hardy will no doubt embody the infamous gangster, it's still very clearly him.

Now though, Hardy's uploaded a new image of himself to Instagram and, well, bloody hell - he looks unrecognisable.

Hardy has shaved his head for the role, is wearing a wig of receding hair, and is heavily made-up with prosthetics, so much so that he's ceased to look anything like himself (okay, you can *just* about see it when you hear it's him, sort of).

The movie will focus on Capone's later years when he's released from prison, has dementia, and "his past becomes present as harrowing memories of his violent and brutal origins melt into his waking life."

Aside from Hardy as Capone, the movie will also star Linda Cardellini as his wife, alongside Matt Dillon and Kyle MacLachlan. It also represents the return of Fantastic Four's Josh Trank, who writes and directs for the first time since that movie was released and he was fired from Star Wars.

What do you think of Hardy's transformation? Let us know down in the comments.
