Trailer: LET ME IN actually looks fairly good

This inevitable re-make of Swedish hit 'Let the Right One In' gets trailer, and suggest it might be worth a look...

The American re-make of the Swedish vampire film Let the Right One In has been in the works since the original proved such a huge critical hit back in 2008. Called Let Me In (Oct, Hammer) and starring Chloe Moretz (Kick-Ass) and Kodi Smit-McPhee (The Road)as the young vampire and the boy she befriends respectively - the film is directed by Matt Reeves, his first movie since Cloverfield. The trailer (above) suggests the visual style and feel of the original has been treated with respect and quite faithfully recreated (some shots are identical), though the music used is pretty distressingly awful. But those who have been cursing the sky since the inevitable re-make was announced should at least feel that it doesn't look like a total disaster. I actually think it looks fairly good and it doesn't seem to have been sanitised or dumbed down in any way (at least from this initial look - there is still plenty of time to be disappointed). Here is the trailer for Let Me In as well as the trailer for the original after the jump (for ease of comparison!):

Let Me In is currently slated for an October 1st release in the US.
