TRANSFORMERS best selling DVD

You know, as much as I hated Transformers this summer there's an awful lot of people across the globe who dug the movie and couldn't wait to run out and purchase the film. If it wasn't enough that the movie is the highest grossing Summer movie of the year, it's now become the best selling one week dvd in North America with 8.3 million sales since it was released on October 16th. The DVD also sold more copies in one day (last Tuesday) than any other DVD this year with 4.5 million units sold. No other DVD has sold as many copies in the October month as Transformers, and it's only been out a week. And to top it all off... Transformers is the best selling HD and Blu Ray DVD in history selling well over 100,000 copies.

Paramount must really love Michael Bay and after it's $700 million taking worldwide, it's no wonder they wanted to go as quickly as possible with a sequel. The DVD sales have shown that it's not just the fanboys that dug the movie, but those whose first experience of those giant robots was on the big screen dug it too. Which means this type of summer blockbuster will continue I'm afraid.
