Transformers: The Last Knight Review: 5 Ups & 6 Downs

Absolute insanity, for better and for worse.

Audiences have (apparently) been looking forward to it and critics have been soundly dreading it: the fifth entry in Michael Bay's Transformers series is finally here, and is being roundly pummeled by critics.

The Last Knight is in no known universe a good film, but there's definitely an argument to be made that it's somewhat better than the critical consensus currently suggests.

Though this isn't the most Michael Bay movie that Michael Bay has ever made, it might be his weirdest film to date, and is definitely a good sight more eccentric and demented than you'd expect a $250 million studio blockbuster to be, especially five movies into a franchise.

Love it or hate it, though, a sixth movie will be on the way soon enough, not to mention that planned Bumblebee spin-off. Conventional wisdom says to vote with your wallet, but with that lucrative Chinese box office sure to make it a hit either way, it doesn't really matter...
