Updated: It appears that AICN (and subsequently ourselves) were fooled by what in actual fact is a damn good fan-made fakery of a trailer. The images of Chris Pine's Kirk and Peter Weller's scientist have been re-tooled from other films with the obscure images cut in a way that for a second made us think Abrams was going for something very subtle with his first Trek teaser. Abrams revealed that image of The Klingons from his "Star Trek 2" sequel that has now finished shooting, Paramount Pictures surprisingly unspooled the first teaser trailer for the film today. Are Paramount kicking in the marketing early on the still untitled sequel that doesn't boldly go into our cinemas until May 2013? The trailer appeared on AICN just moments ago. Star Trek 2 is due May 17th, 2013 and sees Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho, Anton Yelchin and Bruce Greenwood reprise their roles from the original with new parts for Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve and Peter Weller.
