As they should have done in the first place, Sony have now officially released the meaty teaser trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man that will be attached to some U.S. prints of Captain America: The First Avenger, after a bootlegged quality was released yesterday. At least, I THINK this is the official version. I heard it was due Friday so my gut tells me to tread carefully. There is no press release attached to the trailer and it's not a HD quality release, so something tells me somebody has once again unofficially leaked the trailer - just from a better source. Anyway Sony asked me yesterday to take down the unofficial trailer we had up, so if this does indeed turn out to be unofficial, I will be taking it down again. Thanks to We Got This Covered for pointing out the trailer that Movie-Clips seemed to have posted initially. Would love to hear your thoughts on this trailer. For me, the whole film feels completely unnecessary. It doesn't look a bad movie (I could have done without the POV shots at the end) but way to slow down a successful franchise, huh? The Amazing Spider-Man is due July 3rd, 2012 and as I'm sure you know by now stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, Denis Leary and more.
