We are still some time away from another Jurassic Park

By Matt Holmes /

The dumbest idea I've ever heard for a movie in a long while was the proposed plot for Jurassic Park IV which was set to deal with dinosaurs with guns. Thankfully, it would seem that the movie is still in the writing process, so we can all hope that they are changing their minds on that front. From SpeilbergFilms.com...
Steven Spielberg's personal reps at Amblin Entertainment (co-producers of the Jurassic Park franchise) have told SpielbergFilms.com that casting has not commenced on the film, as the story and screenplay are still in development. While there's been talk over the years with series stars Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum and most recently, Laura Dern, the property is still not ready to move forward toward production and no casting is taking place.
Is it really so hard to do a Jurassic Park movie? As technology has improved, the dinosaurs could look more real than they did ten years ago and with a simple story, it could be a killer flick. It doesn't have to be Shakespeare and nor does it have to be such a radically over-the-top and silly plot like dinosaurs with missiles. Just have a dinosaur get loose, roam around the streets of London (yeah seriously, Rome) or somewhere that's not in the U.S. and the imagery could be very cool indeed. Historical and romantic Italy gets destroyed by a big dinosaur. Hell, we all love those Godzilla movies, it's just like remaking the idea of them. source - filmstalker, movieweb
