Having inadvertently stumbled across a number of his films in recent channel-hopping stints, I got to thinking about Rick Moranis. Rick Moranis was a central figure in the world of movie comedy when I was growing up in the 1980s and early 1990s. Having started his career as a radio engineer, he became a comedy performer in the Second City comedy troupe, before embarking on a television career and then a successful movie career. However, in the late 1990's he seemed to just disappear out of the blue - so much so that untrue rumours circulated that he was in fact dead (he's not)! He actually officially stated his intention to retire from acting in 1997 to concentrate on being a single Father, following the tragic death of his wife, Ann, from breast cancer (which had spread to her liver) in 1991. You may be surprised to learn, however, that Rick hasn't actually been inactive since then - he simply hasn't been overly active in the world of movies. In this article, I remind you about some of Rick's best films, find out what he's been doing since retiring, what he's doing now, and what the future may hold for him. First, let's remind ourselves of some of Rick's more popular movies, in chronological order:
6. Ghostbusters (1984)
