Will Jon Hamm Be Archer In A Live-Action Movie?

Yes, you read that right.

There's been rumblings of a live-action Archer movie for a while. Isn't that the way with every TV show - even in this golden age, where the small screen is offering stuff as consistent if not better than the cinema, we still view getting in the cinema true proof of a show's greatness, despite a medium shift rarely being necessary.

Whatever, for Archer it's speculation that won't go away. Which begs the question of who'll star. It's of course unlikely H. Jon Benjamin would, of course, looking nothing like the suavely idiotic spy in real life, which has predicated a massive round of speculation among fans. Well, now it looks like they've found someone.

Word comes from executive producer Matt Thompson (via The Daily Beast) that he's pretty dead-set on getting Jon Hamm on board:

"Its Jon Hamm. If Archer goes live-action, I do believe it will be Jon Hamm. Maybe you could do it with Jon Benjamins voice coming out of him? I dont know. Adam is always like, I dont know if I want the movie to be live-action because I want it to be Jon Benjamin! But if it is live-actionand if it is not Jon Benjaminit is our greatest hope that it would be Jon Hamm. I can say that with confidence.

This is, of course, pre-negotiation and prone to change, especially given that we're unlikely to see a movie of any form as long as the series continues (and thanks to the outreach of Netflix it shows no sign of stopping). I'd personally want an animated film - Archer wouldn't work as well without its distinct style - but you have to agree that Hamm looks the part.

What do you think of an Archer movie? Would Hamm work? Have your say down in the comments.
