Will Smith and son find new projects?

By Matt Holmes /

Two news stories today from the most famous Smith family in Hollywood. Columbia Pictures and Overbrook Entertainment have teamed together to produce two separate movies, with one member of the family to star in each. The first comes from The Hollywood Reporter who tell us that Will Smith is being potentially lined up to top line Sisters of Mercy. The script written by the screenwriting duo Harry Elfont and Deborah Kaplan (Surviving Christmas,Can't Hardly Wait)...
"centers on a widower father who is rescued after his wife's death by members of her book club who soon begin running his life with advice on parenting and dating".
The second Smith story today is from Variety and they tell us that Will's son Jaden Smith who of course he co-starred with in The Pursuit of Happyness, has been signed up to lead Newton's Law. The young actor will be playing an inventor who is trapped in a science center whilst on a field trip. The Pursuit of Happyness has just made it onto DVD here in the U.K. I believe. Heard that it isn't suppose to be all that good, but of course Will Smith got an Oscar nomination for it so it's something I'm definitely interesting in seeing at some point.
