WITCHBLADE: The Movie

I've heard of Witchblade and I know it's popular but I don't really know much about it. Variety say that Platinum Dunes, Top Cow and Archlight Films are teaming together to bring a movie based on the comic book series (which has already been adapted into several t.v. shows) to the big screen for a live-action flick.

The comicbook introduced the Witchblade mythology, which centers on an ornate jewel-encrusted gauntlet that gives extraordinary powers to the wearer, a specially chosen female from each generation.

Debuting in 1995 the series has sold more than 100 million copies and the idea is for it to be adapted into a profitable franchise of several movies. Production is expected to begin in September once they have found a director, a script and cast. Australia is expected to be the location. As we've said the series has already been turned into a live action t.v. show (and a couple of animated one's) which ran between 2001 and 2002 starring Yancy Butler and it looked something like this...
