What a relief it is that, four movies in, the DC Extended Universe finally has a critical and commercial winner on its hands with Patty Jenkins' thoroughly entertaining, if undeniably flawed, Wonder Woman.
As is the case with just about every superhero movie coming down the pike these days, the rumour mill was working overtime in the months leading up to the film's release, with theories regarding its links to Justice League, the nature of its villain, some potential secret cameos, and even the state of the production itself.
Unsurprisingly, a lot of the conjecture and "insider information" turned out to be total, 100% bunk, and as fun as it's been to consider all the angles and possibilities pre-release, the jig is now up.
With hearsay sure to intensify in the coming months ahead of Justice League's release, it's good to keep these untrue rumours in mind and remember that just because something's on the Internet, no matter how convincing it may seem, it ain't necessarily true...
