And instead of us all having to wait to see the trailer well after its Comic Con debut, the studio have released it in glorious high definition, along with an official plot synopsis:

“Wonder Woman” hits movie theaters around the world next summer when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny."

It looks great from first impressions: stylish, action heavy, not too dark despite Zack Snyder's continued presence in the DCEU... This is all good news.

There are some pretty incredible action sequences teased in there - particularly the beach battle between the Amazonians and the German forces. And it definitely looks like a blend of good old fashioned war epic and superhero movie: at this stage, genre-mashing is entirely welcome.
