X-Men: Apocalypse Easter Egg Cameo Revealed?
Can we expect a Dazzling appearance from a famous musician?
A seemingly innocent, newly released promotional photo from X-Men: Apocalypse (May 27th) has the internet speculating on a possible, surprise cameo for the sequel.
The image in question features X-Men mutants Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) and Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) hunting out for new music in an appropriately 80s looking record store.
At first glance, there's not much to be gleamed from this still outside of the 80s fashion we can expect from the new movie but in looking closer, it may just have outted famous musician Taylor Swift as a mutant.
Here's the evidence;
A) Taylor Swift was photographed on set during the making of the movie last year in Montreal.
B) The record of choice is Dazzler, a name that refers to an X-Men mutant character from the comics who just happens to be a musician.
C) Sophie Turner's tweet that basically gave the game away when she posted the new still last night... #FBF that time Cyclops and I went shopping at the mall and found our favorite singers album (pre 1989, of course)
1989 being a subtle reference to Taylor Swift's record-breaking album of the same name;
It's impossible to say for sure that the record store cover features Taylor Swift herself as Dazzler but I'm sure criminals have been convicted for less evidence than what's above.
In the Marvel comics, Dazzler (real name Alison Blaire) is a mutant that moonlights as a famous pop/rock artist. Needless to say this character suits Taylor Swift down to the ground.
Her power is that she can convert sound vibrations into energy beams but it's doubtful Swift's probable cameo will go further than just the album cover easter egg, or perhaps an actual, small runtime cameo if the movie calls for a set piece in a concert hall.
