Zachary Levi Officially Confirmed for Thor 2

Will replace Joshua Dallas as Fandral.

Ex-Chuck star Zachary Levi has finally spilled the beans on whether or not he will be a part of the long awaited follow up to the mega successful Thor movie, and, as the title of this news piece suggests the answer is a resounding "yes". What Culture actually wrote about this story back in June and advised that although he wasn't officially on board, we should expect him to be announced shortly. Well that time is upon us. On last night's episode of hit US talk show Jay Leno, Levi confirmed he will play Fandral, one of the Warriors Three - alongside Chris Hemsworth's God of Thunder when Thor 2 hammers its way into cinemas the world over in 2013. The role, which was originally held by Joshua Dallas, will be Levi's first in a blockbuster franchise despite original movie director Kenneth Branagh courting him over the role before the first movie even began shooting. Had it not been for other commitments post-Chuck this wouldn't even be news as Levi would simply be reprising his role. For many, Levi is perhaps an odd choice to play a tough Asgardian warrior, especially given his cowardly performance as unlucky Chuck, but Branagh and now Marvel themselves see something in him that perhaps we don't so it'll certainly be an interesting choice to say the least. You can watch Levi's admission below. Fear not, the facial hair is probably going to leave hm when shooting ends. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzFJxba7Kso&feature=player_embedded Thor 2 will be directed by Game of Thrones director Alan Taylor and is scheduled for release November 8th, 2013. Amongst the cast are returning Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba and Natalie Portman.
