Sending a text based message to someone with a controller is an ordeal that takes a lifetime to complete. Buying a text pad for the 360 is one alternative, but no one really wants to spend good money on such a difficult device to use. Then there are the headsets. The good ones are expensive, but a cheap model won't last. Both have their pros, but in the end it will always be a loss.

Finding a decent microphone would be easy if it didn't hit bank accounts where it hurts. Going the affordable route means sounding like you are using a potato in a wind turbine when you speak.
