The Switch is a bastion of great games, many of which fall under the radar.
The Nintendo Switch has been a shock success since it released in 2017. It's easy to forget now, but when the Switch was revealed it had many a doubter, your writer included. Well, thus far we've been proven very wrong, not least of all by Nintendo's versatility.
The Nintendo Switch is the antithesis of the Wii U in almost every way, but none more than in regards to the games. The Wii U was like a desert island - a place isolated from the rest of the world, and not even a pretty one. Third-party games were scarce, especially in the latter years, but the Nintendo Switch couldn't be more different.
Every single week there's a host of games released on the system and, not to sound like a hypocrite, but oftentimes there are far too many. Because there's such a litany of releases each week, a lot of great games just fall through the cracks. As such, it's incredibly easy to miss some of the very best games on the Switch.
Today, we want to spotlight some of those hidden gems: a handful of the best Nintendo Switch titles that you probably haven't played. Of course, all of these are "indie" games, so don't expect to find some mad ramblings about why you should play Arms. And they're cheap to boot; in fact, you could buy half a dozen or more of these for less than something like Splatoon 2. So start uncovering these hidden gems for next to nothing!
10. Stick It To The Man
Stick It To The Man is a unique adventure game that released years ago on the PS4 and PS Vita, but has since made its way to the Switch. If you've played any of developer Zoink's other titles (Flipping Death, Zombie Vikings), then you'll know the style of this one.
Featuring a quirky art-style that looks like paper cut-outs, Stick It To The Man is a side-scrolling adventure game with a bizarre sense of humour and entertaining story. Truth be told, you'd be forgiven for thinking this game was developed by Double Fine Productions, because it has the exact same sensibilities and humour, while even having a vaguely similar graphic style.
Don't worry though: this isn't a cheap knock-off of a Tim Schafer game. While clearly inspired by titles like Grim Fandango and Day of the Tentacle, Stick It To The Man has a style all of its own and it is definitely worth playing for adventure game fans.
The story is a madcap series of events that take the loser protagonist, Ray Doewood, into a bonkers world. The game doesn't offer much in the way of replay value, but that first time through is laugh-out-loud funny and quite memorable.
