We all love a good horror game, there is no denying that and we all have our favourite game characters. So why not mix them together a bit and see what results we come up with, in the spirit of experimentation?
We all love a good horror game, there is no denying that and we all have our favourite game characters. So why not mix them together a bit and see what results we come up with, in the spirit of experimentation? Well, this article does just that, taking well-loved and respected gaming franchises and the occasional eye-catching one-off titles and meshing them together with horror classics to create something new and altogether more gruesome. So in no particular order here are 10 horror crossovers we would love to see. Some ideas have simply taken the concepts and stories of these games and thrown them at each other, others have a more "lets make something new" approach, so read on and share your thoughts at the end, including your own ideas for fantasy horror cross-overs. 1. Dead Space/Ninja Gaiden
Hacking Necromorphs to pieces as a ninja in space, who doesnt want that? Set on the Spire featured in Dead Space 2, Ryu has been sent to annihilate the Necromorph outbreak once and for all. The mix of Ryu's blade skills and Dead Spaces tactical dismemberment seem like a really cool partnership. I personally would love to see a mix of both swordplay and gunplay, as adept with a blade as Ryu is, I cant help but feel some of the zero gravity sections would still require the use of firepower. One thing that certainly should creep over from Ninja Gaiden is this insane difficulty so synonymous with the series. When it comes to it, we have to pick a character to be our main protagonist. So we have Isaac and Ryu both having pros and cons. Ryu looks a lot cooler than Isaac would with a blade yet Isaacs personality we saw in Dead Space 2 shouldnt be ignored. I think as horror games are meant to scare the player rather than the player watching the scared character Ryu would win. As seeing Isaac dash around with a blade just simply wouldnt work. If I had to pick a Studio to take lead on this it would be Visceral, it may seem the obvious choice as they have the horror experience but the set pieces and general flow of the Dead Space games has a brilliant pace to it breaking up combat and eerie moments and balancing them beautifully. Games Similar: As far as I know the hack and slash space horror genre being proposed here is something that hasnt yet been ventured into. There are horror Melee combat titles out there but none that I can think of occurring in space.
