10 Most Twisted Video Game Achievements Ever
These games taunted players who were looking for an easy ride to full-completion.
Ever since the popularisation of a multi-game achievement hub with the Xbox 360's gamerscore system, gamers everywhere have scrambled to try and jump through every hoop necessary in order to fully complete their favourite titles.
Usually, doing this isn't too difficult as long as you're willing to put the time and effort in. I mean sure, you're going to need to be able to play the game for long periods of time and on increased difficulties, but, let's be honest, most people are doing that for their favourite games anyway.
However, some developers seemingly decided that if a player had the audacity to try and fully complete all of the achievements in their game they were going to really have to work for it.
The achievements featured on this list aren't your run-of-the-mill collectathons or even related to finishing the game on some ridiculous difficulty. No, these achievements were seemingly implemented solely for the purpose of making a would-be completionist pull their hair out in frustration with just one final trophy needed to call it a day.
Acquiring any of these is undoubtedly worth ultimate bragging rights.
10. Manager Merry Go Round - FIFA 08
The FIFA series of games has undoubtedly cemented itself as the top-dog in the simulating the beautiful game for years now, especially since the decline of Pro Evolution Soccer.
However, FIFA's not exactly the first game that comes to people's minds when it comes to challenging achievements, and for good reason. Generally, in order to fully complete the game's achievements players normally just have to go through a series of relatively easy challenges such as scoring a free-kick, customising their player, and grinding for hours at Ultimate Team.
Back in the day though, EA seemingly decided that players needed to suffer if they wanted to 100% FIFA 08.
Though the game still included all of the basic meat and potatoes challenges, it also featured Manager Merry Go Round, a truly sadistic test of the player's quality and patience in manager mode.
In order to obtain this achievement, the player must complete 15 seasons as a manager in career mode, with different clubs in different countries. What makes this achieving this such a slog is that the player can't just sim all of the games as getting sacked completely voids the challenge, forcing the player to have to start again.
