We've all got that one friend, relative, co-worker or associate that when you're talking about them gets referred to as "that a**hole". Don't get us wrong we totally love them for it - and we wouldn't have them any other way - but sometimes you just have to look at what someone's doing or done, and acknowledge a few dick moves along the way. Well, Hideo Kojima is one such dick-move throwing man, and being he's also the creator of one of the biggest gaming franchises of all time that can be a tad problematic, should his artistic decisions get the better of him. 'Artistic decisions' like say, doing away with one of the coolest characters in gaming history to replace them with a total ponce, or being the only franchise in history to repeat the same catch-all plot-resolution as Star Wars. Kojima is a man who for better or worse has allowed any and every conceivable idea under the sun to factor its way into Metal Gear, which although it's given the franchise its obscure and unique nature, there are thousands of confused fans left scratching their heads with each instalment. If it was anyone else who helped program all of these intentionally obfuscating elements they'd have their game suitably dragged through the muck Watch Dogs-style, but Koj and his team always manage to do it in such a cocksure and charming manner, we can't help but just love them for it... at least that's what we keep telling ourselves.
