From the classic Grand Theft Auto franchise to the gorgeous Red Dead Redemption series, and even including the underrated Bully, Rockstar has made games that are beloved by people of all ages around the world.

And with the creation of such detailed open worlds, there are bound to be hundreds of easter eggs. From hidden Bigfoots to time travellers, Rockstar titles can be full of interesting hidden secrets.

But amongst the hundreds of Rockstar easter eggs, there are quite a few that verge on the creepy and disturbing, even for a game series about running around cities killing indiscriminately, or exploring the Wild West.

These easter eggs hidden by Rockstar contain some heavy lore that can take up entire webpages, and are some of the most well known of their respective series.

Whether a random NPC hiding a dark and twisted secret, or simply something strange being discovered in the open world, these are just a few of the terrifying easter eggs that have haunted fan's games for decades.

10. The Ice Alien (GTA V)

When players were first dropped into the opening mission of GTA V, there probably wasn't a single player who thought that the level was missing a hidden alien for players to stumble upon.

With a tense bank heist and two main character introductions going on, players were understandably busy having the time of their lives driving away from the cops.

But if someone did decide to slow down and drive to a spot near the road where Michael and Trevor are supposed to be making their getaway and look through the ice then they would be met face to face with a grey alien glowering back up at them.

Aliens, surprisingly, aren't uncommon in GTA or even other Rockstar titles for that matter, as they make up a big portion of easter eggs and mysteries going on inside Rockstar Games - GTA V especially.

And while finding this easter egg will result in a "mission failed" appearing on their screen it is super easy to find for any new player.

Fans after seeing this not so green Martian may wonder, is this easter egg just an X-Files type gag, or is something more happening in GTA V?
