10 Video Game Bosses Who Can Secretly Join Your Team

If you can't beat them, let them join YOU.

Video game protagonists and villains stay on two opposite sides of a conflict as old as time itself. The latter always scheme and wreak havoc while the former try to stop them.

However, even though this formula is the norm, there are some exceptions. Sometimes, you can see the good in your nemeses; something that makes you think you have a lot in common and lets you see eye-to-eye.

... Or even more miraculously, team up!

Yes, in some video games, your worst enemy can become your best friend if you only manage to find some common ground. Despite a long conflict filled with threats and violence, at the end of the day, the villain might be willing to join your party and go on adventures together.

Having the antagonist tag along on your journey is a unique and wholly strange experience, but this makes it all the more tempting. There's just something great about hearing your enemy's perspective on doing things your way or resolving problems using their villainous reputation.

10. Cicero - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

The Dark Brotherhood questline from Skyrim is full of treachery, some of which happens within the very organization you're working for.

One of the earliest conflicts happens between the Brotherhood and their somewhat unstable (to put it lightly) newcomer from Cyrodiil, Cicero.

The dastardly jester is, surprisingly enough, a staunch traditionalist and his disagreement with Astrid, who tends to ignore most of the old rules, eventually causes him to attack the other Brotherhood members before retreating to the city of Dawnstar.

It's here that you have to track him down and take revenge for his treason. However, you can also do the opposite of what an assassin should do and spare him - allowing Cicero to make a sudden reappearance at the end of the quest.

If you choose to let Cicero live, the merry serial killer will return after the Brotherhood is rebuilt and offer to join you as a faithful follower.

The clown is a wholly unique companion, with custom gear, a unique fighting style and voice lines, making him a truly one-of-a-kind buddy that you absolutely need to preserve - especially since at the end of the Brotherhood questline, there aren't that many familiar faces left in your psychopathic family.
