Did you realise Rockstar's last game (GTA V) released way back in 2013? You wouldn't know it thanks to GTA Online raking in $5 million dollars every day, encouraging Rockstar to keep plugging content into a seemingly never-ending payment model, but this is the most time the company have ever taken between releases, putting all focus and impetus on Red Dead Redemption 2 to be well worth the wait.

Though, with the general consensus surrounding the idea of revisiting something that ended so definitively, comes the need to justify a sequel from top to bottom. Assumedly that's why Rockstar elected to do a prequel, moving away from the Marston bloodline and focusing on what it was like to live at a time when the stereotypical American Wild West was transitioning into the oil-fuelled industrial boom of the 1900s.

Such a setting is ripe for opportunities to flesh out various characters and motivations from the first game, and we already know - thanks to the latest trailer - that Dutch's Gang will feature prominently. Still, with the game being delayed into 2018 and zero in-game footage revealed, there are a TON of features up in the air that could go one way or another.
