With E3 having come and gone for another year, the road map for the remainder of 2017's video games has been firmly laid out. Still, everything's left to play for as big AAA titles will inevitably fall by the wayside, and some surprise hits just might emerge out of nowhere.

The first half of 2017 has been an absolute embarrassment of riches for gamers everywhere, to the point where there's simply nowhere near enough time in a day to play everything you probably want to. The next six months don't seem to much be slowing down either, bar the customary lull at the height of the summer, and the October-November slate in particular is looking absolutely jam-packed with quality titles.

What will come out on top? What will flop? Which much-requested sequels will finally be confirmed? Is VR going to fade into the ether this year or sustain its growth? Only time will tell, but these 12 predictions just might provide some insight...
