7 Worst Video Games Of 2021 (So Far)

For a year largely thought of as a "recovery period" from everything we collectively went through across 2020, gaming - of all the entertainment industries - has actually fared very well.

Top-tier must-plays like Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Hitman 3, Resident Evil Village and Returnal are bolstered by overlooked indie gems like Overboard!, Alba: A Wildlife Adventure, Genesis Noir and The Pedestrian.

Combined, it's been a stellar year for video games, especially when taken in the shadow of just how much we've collectively been up against.

That said though, what about the other side of the coin? No one would blame any studio for failing to bring their titles together in a year dogged by so many obstacles, but even with caveats in mind, some games simply don't deserve your time.

From disappointments to just outright amateurish efforts that needed more time in development, 2021 is a surprisingly solid year overall, but we couldn't entirely escape the stinkers.
