8 Popular Nintendo Wii U Games (And Whether They Deserve Switch Ports)
Do these games deserve a second chance?
The library of true Wii U exclusives is slowly drying up. Every year a few more Wii U games are rescued from their sinking ship and given a second chance on the much more successful Nintendo Switch.
Whilst the big Wii U exclusives such as Super Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3, and Mario Kart 8 have been moved to the Nintendo Switch, there are still a few games left stranded. The thing is, porting a game from the Wii U takes time and money.
Not only is porting a game from one system to another not free, the Wii U and the Nintendo Switch are very different systems. Whilst both have got a touch screen the selling point of the Switch is that it can be played on your TV as well and most TV's don't exactly have touch screens.
It makes sense that Nintendo isn't going to give everything a Switch port. Some games just don't really deserve a second chance.
Some Wii U games should be added to the ever-growing Switch library and some of them should have their life support disconnected.
8. Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival
Should it be allowed on the Switch: No
The biggest problem with Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival is that it was a full-priced game. Yeah, it came with a couple of Amiibos but seeing that they are required to play the game I don't think we need to be grateful for that.
Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival is a Mario Party game without the mini-games. The game somehow relies on luck more than Mario Party and the games go on for too long, it is one of the most boring games Nintendo has ever published. It's an awful experience that even Animal Crossing charm can't save.
The only way this game could work on the Nintendo Switch would be as a free download-only title. They'd make their money through Amiibo sales and free is around the price this game is worth.
If the game for some reason had to be on the Switch this would probably be the best option. Luckily we don't live in some weird world where Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival HAS to come to the Switch so the best option is to just pretend this mistake of a game never existed.
