8 Video Game DLCs That Broke EVERYTHING
Extra content... to crash your console.
In this day and age, it's a pretty common sight to see video games supported down the line with extra content, or in some greedy and rather desperate cases, months and months before the title even drops, with pre-orders designed to part you from your pennies.
And while we all have different views on what should and shouldn't be included as DLC and may even yearn for the days of old where you actually, you know, unlocked stuff, for the most part, these expansions are welcomed as adding yet more adventures and fun on top of the core experience.
However, some DLCs either in an effort to shift units or for lack of foresight utterly upended their respective video games, casting balance out the window or making it so that the base game was now unstable to play!
It's a backwards way of thinking that these games actually ended up worse, the more that was added in.
Yet, here we are. A glut of pain you had to pay the privilege to endure.
8. Assassins Creed Origins DLC Glitch
No matter how much Ubisoft likes to dress up AC in new clothing and settings, they're effectively the same experience sold to you over and over. Not that there's anything wrong with that if you like high-octane stealth and rooftop running action, or enjoy churning through enough side content to fill at least two other games at a time, but you'd think that all this copy/pasting would mean the experience would be smooth sailing, right?
Well as we all know the AC series seems to love shipping in half-finished states, resulting in humorous and horrifying glitches aplenty. Yet the strangest of all that actually became quite a serious one was spotted in a pre-order DLC for Assassin's Creed Origins.
The Deluxe Edition of the game came with a code for a mission called "Ambush at Sea", however for a fair old while the only thing being ambushed was your console, as the game would freeze when loading the encounter. Oh well, you think to yourself, I'll just wait until this is fixed right?
Well, I've got some bad news for you pal, as if you encountered this bug there was a high chance that your save file would be corrupted, and you'd be starting the experience all over again!
