Such is the question on many fans' lips, as being The Last Jedi is set to drop within the month, "Star Wars fever" is well and truly underway.

However, Battlefront 2's launch has been a landmark mess on a scale not seen since No Man's Sky. Very rarely do you see a property so beloved - and one that should be a surefire hit (seriously, how hard is it to make a good Star Wars game?) - release to a mainstream reaction that vehemently despises everything it stands for.

That scorn and fury is well deserved, as it only took players a few hours to realise Battlefront 2's overarching systems were inherently greedy, predatory and worst of all, designed to be pay-to-win. Shocking sales include only 882,000 units versus the 2.1 million of the 2015 edition, Belgium's Gaming Commission labelling the game as "child gambling", and Disney stepping in to force EA's to remove in-game transactions altogether. Finally, one notable Hawaiian representative has stated the game is a "Star Wars-themed online casino designed to lure kids into spending money".

Ouch.
