The Batman Arkham video games - Arkham Asylum and Arkham City - have been two of the best received superhero video games in recent years. Finally, a set of games based on a comic book character that arent a terrible movie tie-ins or just generally poor. Now it has been announced that a third Arkham game will be released this year, while Rocksteady (the studio behind both games) are reportedly stepping away from the series and are - instead - working on a stylised prequel detailing Batmans first encounter with the Joker, which isnt likely to be out until at least 2014. But which of the two games will be better? My moneys on the Arkham City sequel, and heres 10 reasons why.
10. Mark Hamill Won't Be Voicing Joker In The Prequel
After Heath Ledgers amazing performance as the Joker in The Dark Knight, many people praised him as being the best Joker ever. For me, that title has to go to Mark Hamill. His work on Batman: The Animated Series and on both Arkham games was just amazing. His performance in the Arkham games was the perfect mixture of over-the-top showmanship and down right creepiness. Sadly, Hamill announced that Arkham City would be the last time he ever voiced the character, which would mean that the prequel, which will see Batman meet the Joker for the first time, would have to find a new actor play the character. This may seem like a small issue, as there are many actors out there capable enough of playing the Joker, but none that could do it just like Mark Hamill. This issue wouldnt be a problem in the sequel because (spoiler alert) the Joker dies at the end of Arkham City (and for those who still say he could have survived, read Arkham City: End Game hes definitely dead).
