Today, Bethesda Softworks has confirmed the October 9 release date of their newest title, Dishonored. Players will assume the role of a once-trusted bodyguard of the much loved Empress. As you are framed for her murder, a course of events leads you to become an infamous assassin known for your disturbing mask. An oppressive government has created a time of worry in the people, and with a plague taking over the city, you struggle to understand the truth behind your betrayal. With each decision you make the outcomes of your missions change, stealth vs. destruction, these will all change your outcomes.

With dark powers at your disposal, players will be able to approach every assassination with precise control. Dishonored encourages you to use creativity in order to combine abilities and gadgets to eliminate your targets. Your dark arts allow you to teleport for stealth, possess any creature you see, or even stop time itself.

It definitely has awesome boxart, but the only question is whether or not it will play as great as it looks. With only five months until launch, you can expect more information to be revealed soon. Hopefully, a full gameplay trailer will show us whether the dark arts will entice us to plan out assassinations in first person. In case the debut cinematic trailer somehow escaped your line of sight, enjoy.
