Codemasters announced this morning that everyones favourite gaming egg is to be given the HD makeover treatment and thrust into the limelight of mobile gaming as soon as December 9th, a date now being referred to as egg-mergence day. Dizzy: Prince of the Yolkfolk which sees the titular egg on a puzzle-solving, platform-based journey through the magical kingdom of Keldor to rescue his girlfriend Daisy from castle imprisonment - was first published by Codemasters in 1991, building a surprisingly large and loyal fanbase over the years. Scores of online petitions and twenty years later, the Guildford-based software company have decided its time to remake Dizzy and give iPhone, iPad and Android users a chance to recapture their youthful gaming days. The game is being developed by DNA Interactive, headed by original project developer Paul Ranson, and will see Dizzy available via the App Store for iPad and iPhone and the Android Market for Android phones and tablets.
