E3 2017: 6 Ups & 4 Downs From Bethesda's Conference
Where the Hell was Starfield?
After two relatively lukewarm showings from EA and Microsoft to kick off E3, Bethesda were up third, arriving amid hype that they were set to deliver two new IPs while also introducing new entries to several beloved franchises.
Did Bethesda deliver? Uh, kinda? The publisher took a singularly games-focused approach to their conference this year, and though this was ultimately as frustrating as it was satisfying, the show at least had zero fat on it and left fans with plenty to be excited about for the remainder of 2017.
Could it have been a bigger and more exciting show, as in previous years? Absolutely, but it wasn't the atrocious dumpster fire certain quarters of the Internet would lead you to believe either (looking at you, NeoGAF).
Still, at this point, it seems like E3 just might be Sony's to "win"...
