Fallout 4: 10 Simple Fixes That Would Improve Everything

All of the Dogmeat, all of the time!

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The popularity of the Fallout universe is so great that the implementation of any sweeping changes or additions could be considered unnecessary. If the general public are to ever receive any solid confirmation of Fallout 4's existence, perhaps the features it should eventually be boasting are not revolutionary ones but instead, meek ones that promise to smooth out gameplay, diversify the experience and eradicate long-standing flaws. Hopefully the lessons learnt during the releases of Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas and Skyrim have left Bethesda well aware that it's often the little things that can keep a game mired in critical purgatory, with some able to look past the bugs and others blinded by the myriad issues. With a new generation of consoles bridging the gap between the worlds of PC and console gaming the persistence of some of these problems will become inexcusable, especially considering how well companies like Rockstar have coped with releasing unbroken, fan-pleasing content in recent years. It's not just the bugs that need addressing though. Beyond the obvious improvements, there are innumerable design niggles and gameplay creases that need ironing out. If Bethesda are to really succeed with their next venture into the post-apocalyptic franchise then they'd do well to get the basics right.
