Listen, learn and we will see you on the football pitch.

As a long term cultivator of all things FIFA; I, like many, am anticipating this Autumn€™s release of the series€™ latest instalment with quite some excitement. Indeed, whilst some football fans are worrying about whether Robin Van Persie may be leaving their North London club and others are concerned about him joining Wayne Rooney in a strike force of twenty-something€™s with unfortunate hair, the rest of us are just concerned over which team he will be playing in when we make an assault on the Premier League title with whichever team we shirk our smaller club for. Where some worry about their teams pre-season form and signings, I am merely concerned with how best to equip myself for the newest onslaught on the world of football. However not being a multi-national bank, us at WhatCulture Towers don€™t just want to steal all the necessary things for ourselves, we like to share and have devised this list of 10 tips to help you play Fifa 13 like a boss.

1. Buy The Right Players

We all get sucked in to the allure of spending big when the first time manager gets improbable amounts of cash. Although the temptation to try and snare Lionel Messi from Barcelona to come to Real Madrid can overcome you; the key to success in manager mode is to buy the right players for the football you play and the weak areas of the team. Most people treat pre-season friendlies as a thing you have to get through, but they are very helpful in showing which players unhinge what you€™re trying to do or just aren€™t good enough. If that means you need to buy a 70 million pound striker, go for it, but more often than not it€™s other areas that need fixing and doing that helps you ease through manager mode. What happens if you don€™t do this: You will get to the third match of the season before you realise the unfashionable defensive midfielder may have been a better purchase.
