It's more than just a game, it's a cultural phenomenon. Part of the success has been Sports Interactive's willingness to listen to their addicted fans and adapt the game based on what they want to see. The same classic game formula remains in tact, but since the early days, the franchise has undergone some dramatic makeovers to keep up with the fast-moving football world.
