Gamestop Apologizes for THE LAST GUARDIAN Cancellation Mishap

The biggest video game retailer in the U.S. claimed The Last Guardian was cancelled but Sony have reassured us it is till in production.

Last week GameStop (biggest video game retailer in the U.S.) was calling every gamer who had pre-ordered The Last Guardian to tell them the game had been cancelled and they should move their pre-order to another title. However, Sony later issued a statement saying that The Last Guardian has not been cancelled with Patrick Seybold, Sony's senior director of corporate communications proclaiming "This is not true." So even though GameStop was calling people to tell them The Last Guardian was cancelled, it is actually still in production according to Sony. Well GameStop has since issued an apology for their mistake:
"The Last Guardian has not been cancelled by Sony as we incorrectly stated in an automated call to reservation customers. Because the game did not have a specific release date, GameStop made the decision to remove the game from our system. The Last Guardian will be reinstated for pre-order when a firm launch date is known."
The past few weeks have not been kind to fans of this game who have been waiting so long for new information only to hear that creator Fumito Ueda recently "vacated his position" and the game had been cancelled. But at least we can confirm that the game is not cancelled, we just have no idea when we will ever get to see it; as it has been going on almost two years since we have heard any new information about the game. Have any of you given up hope on this game or do you believe we will still see this game in the near future?
