Gears Of War 4: 10 Big Things That Must Happen

New developer Black Tusk have a lot to live up to.

Remember Gears of War: Judgment? It€™s like some weird memory that comes back to you after a heavy night on the gin beforehand. €œHoly crap, that thing happened€€ is the more common response to the half-DLC, half-real Gears sequel that hardly anybody picked up back in 2013. Part of the reason it didn't sell particularly well or get noticed as a core instalment in the franchise was down to its reputation as a side-story, and the fact that instead of controlling Marcus 'ARGH, CAM ANN' Fenix, you were getting behind motormouth Damon Baird and firecracker catchphrase-machine Augustus 'Cole Train' Cole. A few controller layout shakeups later was all it took to cement this as one you could pass by, especially being that Gears 3 had just released two years prior, but all that's done over time is get fans salivating at the mouth when it comes to the first 'proper' sequel in what'll be four years if it drops in 2015. The franchise itself has had a bit of a shakeup when it comes to the team behind the games themselves, but new team Black Tusk Studios are behind the reigns now, and with a key member in Gears 2's Senior Producer Rod Fergusson making sure the whir of every chainsaw is just right, it should be a return to form all round.
