Amazon have become the first major retailer to predict a release date for Rockstars hotly anticipated Grand Theft Auto V. The listing for the game on Amazon.com (Pre-order HERE) reveals a December 2012 release date. Amazon has been the first retailer to give us any sort of solid conjecture, since Wedbush Securities foresaw an optimal release window of October 2012. Amazon may just be reserving this date as a form of placeholder, but with the rumour mill wildly turning over this one, general consensus certainly does point to a pre-Christmas release. And wouldnt that be lovely! Of course this information could all be just that: conjecture. Without any solid announcement from Rockstar, your glue-sniffing flatmate could say GTA V is out tomorrow and itd arguably be just as valid. The news comes after publisher/distributor Take-Two Interactive announced plans to pushback their other flagship title Bioshock: Infinites release to February 2013, leaving them with a fillable void of about the size of four months, which seems perfectly GTA V sized. Rockstar releases Max Payne 3 next week, while Take Two is expected to at least hint at GTA V details during a financial results call on 22 May. Lets hope the news that we all want comes soon, and that Christmas this year will be that much more violent! GTA 5 will be released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC onwell, at some point in the future. Check WhatCulture! for more information as Rockstar releases it.
