Injustice 2: 19 Best Character Abilities You Must Unlock
Make sure you're getting the most out of this phenomenal roster.
The more time that gathers post-release, the more Injustice 2 cements itself as one of the best fighting games of the decade, and even of NetherRealm’s career. That’s mighty tall praise, but when the studio have produced an immaculately balanced head-smasher with characterful charm, an ace story mode, fantastically enjoyable loot grind and a diehard frame-counting online multiplayer, yeah, it’s pretty damn special.
One of the coolest ideas NetherRealm implemented comes from changing your chosen hero or villain’s roster over time. Twinned with both character progression and the loot system, each fighter has a number of additional animations you can unlock, either bolstering your moveset or replacing certain signature abilities.
Whilst it might not sound hugely important, thanks to just how experimental the meshing of combos and movement can be, swapping just one component out can really alter your approach.
Depending on where you’ve been spending the most time (I recommend the Multiverse’s Endless mode with an A.I. bot taking your place as a solid loadout-tester), you’ve most likely started expanding many specific fighters’ moves.
However, know where to look and you’ll immediately start feeling the difference, especially online.
