Medal of Honour: Warfighter Won't Feature An Osama Bin Laden Level
Newly announced FPS sequel from Danger Close wont feature a controversial re-enactment of the infamous Tier 1 operation.
"That's not our story to tell... That's 'family business' to . ... It's been an interesting exercise learning what's okay and what's not okay ."Details have emerged thanks to OXM that the story will once again be based loosely on real events, and has been co-written by real operators between missions, with the emphasis and impetus on "authenticity" rather than "simulation". This of course means that Warfighter will retain some of those reality-bending features like health regeneration that make FSP gaming so pleasurable, though there will apparently be a hardcore one-shot-kills setting for the extremely brave. The game will also be powered by Battlefield 3's Frostbite 2.0, and the news is that it looks incredible, with more intricate details enabled than was possible with the former game's dual-engine set-up. And that game looked great, so we can expect an impressive visual experience when the game eventually lands. What of the title? Well, it seems somewhat overly explicit for me - like they might as well have called it MoH: ShootyGunMen - but then titles this year have been bloody ridiculous (Revenggeance, Unbounded...). We can expect to see Warfighter in Autumn 2012, round about the same time that the rumoured Black Ops sequel arrives on shelves. Open warfare once more it seems...
