In a rather tactless and unbelievably unprofessional move, the ongoing saga between Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima and Konami has resulted in the latter redesigning the press assets and box art around the game to remove both its own creators name, and the studio responsible. If you want to get caught up on everything thats available for the story itself, check out this article, but remember; with a country as honourable and respectful of each other (until now, it seems), theres only the barest of facts to take in. You can see the comparison shot above, and although its not an immediately striking variation, the message it sends is clear; despite tens of thousands of gamers only knowing of Konamis existence directly because of Kojima, and despite his 25 year tenure with the company, the recent rift in management is enough to get him disowned from the project. Note the difference between the text at the top, and his own studio logo in the bottom left. It must be made clear, Kojima is still very much involved in the project with his team (renamed from Kojima Productions to Konami L.A. Studios), its more that every instance where his name would appear like in past instalments, is now missing. Its a real shame the final instalment of such an iconic franchise is not going to have A Hideo Kojima game emblazoned atop it as it should, but heres to MGS V turning out to be one of the best Games of the Year for 2015 regardless.
