More XP Events for GEARS OF WAR 2

Just can't wait for Gears of War 3? Well fear not, there are XP events aplenty in the run up to the release of Gears of War 3. It has been announced on twitter and in the Gears forums from the guys at Epic Games that a series of XP events will take place each weekend until the release of Gears 3. The idea of these events are to help you get that bit closer to some of the mammoth achievements that Gears of War 2 has, and to generate a bit of well deserved hype for the upcoming game. The first of these is taking place as we speak, this weekend players of Gears of War 2 get an x5 XP multiplayer and masses of tickers to boot. As seen on the forums, the XP graduation is looking a little like the following:

The events taking place each weekend will be different, not just from an increase in XP, but with elements of gameplay in horde mode changed such as different enemies spawning, change in weapon pickups or ammo tweaks. Anyone who has taken part in these events before will tell you how much fun they can be. Whether you need your Seriously 2.0, your Veteran Gear, or any other combo of achievements, the increase in XP is sure to help, why not go back to Gears 2 for a while, or at least every weekend until September 20th.
