Sony Entertainment UK have launched the new Garnet Red PS3 today, exclusive to GAME. It will be joined by the release of the Azurite Blue PS3 tomorrow, both priced at £250. The two consoles each come with matching colour-coordinated DualShock controllers and the "super slim" models each pack 500GB of storage. The new models will see release in Japan on February 28th in limited quantities only, but Uk fans can get their hands on the Garnet Red edition as of today. Sony are also set to release the God of War: Ascension PS3 hardware bundle next month on March 15th, which will feature a white 500GB version of the popular console, with sales for the home entertainment system hitting five million units in October last year. The God of War edition will also feature a God of War DualShock 3 controller, plus a copy of the God of War: Ascension special edition. Since its release in November 2006, the PlayStation 3 has seen several variations in design, starting with the release of the "slim model" in 2009 followed by the "super slim model" toward the end of last year. The successor to the PS3, the PlayStation 4, is expected to be formally announced next Wednesday. Sony released a teaser video at the end of January inviting gamers to "see the future" on February 20. Will you be buying the new Garnet Red or Azurite Blue PS3 consoles?
