All the websites reporting on the death of the Nintendo3DS seems a little pre-mature now that it seems everyone is buying one. Just announced today are the sales figures for the 3DS over the holidays and Nintendo scored big. According to the site Andriasang, the Nintendo 3DS sold 1,492,931 over the month of December. This is the most units ever sold for a console in one month since Enterbrain started tracking console sales in 1997. In fact, the 3DS has actually lead all console sales for the past seven months according to Enterbrain's monthly sales chart. The PS Vita came in at number two for the month of December, selling 402,794 units. Ever since the controversial price cut for the Nintendo 3DS, the system has been selling better and better; which is why I have refrained from writing the PS Vita off as doomed like so many other websites because of the slow sales start. I want to wait and see if Sony goes the Nintendo rout and drops the price to help increase sales for the system, which would probably help jump start sales just like it did for Nintendo.
