It's amazing just how easily Nintendo has bounced back from the struggles of the Wii U. Even with strong exclusive titles, it never really hit the necessary sales groove it needed to succeed. The Switch, on the other hand, has been the complete opposite with plenty of love from critics, scores of first-party titles and great commercial success.

Nintendo has to be especially pleased with the system's numbers as it has now surpassed the Wii U's total sales numbers only 10 months after its March release date. Confirmed in the company's recent quarterly earnings report, The Big N has seen a massive sales spike that only continued for months after launch. It's no surprise, with games like Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Splatoon 2, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and more helping the system achieve a high level of popularity among gamers.

With such a strong start to this console's life cycle, Nintendo must be pleased. After all, if they continue with this level of consoles shipped out and bought, they can finally return to their spot as a viable competitor against Microsoft and Sony.

Until then, all you Switch owners can keep on collecting Power Moons in Super Mario Odyssey, as Nintendo continues to roll out those sweet exclusives.
