After months of rumours and leaks, Bloomberg's Jason Schreier dropped on his podcast Triple Click, that a "Prince of Persia remake" is arriving at Ubisoft's Forward event.

The news comes after a Guatemalan retailer also listed Prince of Persia back on August 20th, though the associated artwork didn't confirm precisely what we're getting.

Interestingly, the logo seen is reminiscent of 2008's failed attempt at a reboot; a revamped take on the mythos that was more cel-shaded, with sales figures resulting in yet another completely different game two years later - the aptly-named Forgotten Sands.

This sold the worst of the bunch, prompting Ubi to put the franchise on ice for the foreseeable future.

Now we've got the first confirmed rumblings of a new Prince of Persia, but the question is:

Have Ubisoft redone Prince of Persia for full remake - like Activision's output with Crash, Spyro and Tony Hawk - or are we getting texture pack overhauls like Ubisoft's own Assassin's Creed III and Far Cry 3?

The Ubisoft Forward event takes place September 10th, and maybe if we all cross our fingers and hold hands, a new Splinter Cell will also get announced alongside the Prince's return.
